FCC Construcción participates heavily in the promotion of a number of European and domestic R&D&i initiatives and in the development of its own projects plus projects in cooperation with other business units of the FCC Group on a domestic and international basis. In addition, it participates in cooperative projects as a member of consortiums, an arrangement that enables the synergies between the different members to be used to increase the flow of knowledge.
The company has designed an R&D&i policy to more easily steer its efforts in the innovation field toward integration with the company's top-priority lines of action as a whole.
The R&D&i activity of FCC Construcción is specifically aimed at spearheading the building sector's most important advances in technological and process innovation as related with the company's main activity. FCC Construcción participates actively in those initiatives that are oriented along its own lines of action, which are:

The company earned R&D&i Management System Certification as meeting R&D&i Management System Requirements from AENOR, the Spanish standardisation and certification association, on 31 August 2007. It secured a three-year renewal of its certification in May 2010.
