FCC Construcción

The consortium made up of Alpine BeMo Tunnelling GMBH, an Austrian subsidiary of FCC, Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd, Morgan Sindall (Infrastructure) and VINCI Construction has secured the contract for a section of Crossrail, the new underground railway link being built in London.

The Esther Koplowitz Foundation has been given the "Protagonists of the Year 2010" Award in the "Solidarity" category by Punto Radio for its extraordinary work helping society's neediest collectives. The foundation's vice president, Andrés del Río, collected the award on behalf of the Esther Koplowitz Foundation.

The Catalonian regional Department of Land Policy and Public Works has awarded the contract to build the El Baix de Llobregat Intermodal Transfer Facility to a joint venture featuring FCC, through publicly owned firm GISA.

The Spanish Global Compact Network celebrated its fifth anniversary on 23 November last, in cooperation with MAPFRE. The Network is the corporate social responsibility initiative with the largest membership in Spain. Accompanying the organisation on this special day were the main players from the most recent years of the Global Compact's career.

FCC has signed an agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality to make it easier for women victims of gender violence to find work. The signing of the agreement was attended by Leire Pajín, minister for Health, Social Policy and Equality; Bibiana Aído, secretary of state for Equality.
