FCC signs an agreement to hire women victims of gender violence

Acto de la firma

FCC has signed an agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality to make it easier for women victims of gender violence to find work. FCC's Citizen Services group has joined a set of 13 companies, foundations and associations that have undertaken to profile the jobs they offer specifically for abused women and to make it easier for abused women to forge a career by offering targeted employment.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Leire Pajín Iraola, minister for Health, Social Policy and Equality; Bibiana Aído Almagro, secretary of state for Equality; and executives from the thirteen signatory companies, one of which was FCC, represented by Human Resources Manager Francisco Martín Monteagudo.

The agreement is another step toward the consolidation of FCC's corporate social responsibility policy. It involves a twofold commitment to help in the dissemination of gender violence awareness and prevention campaigns, both in the company and among the public at large, plus a commitment to action for occupational integration.

This agreement reflects the FCC Group's concern over the social problems existing in Spain, and it highlights the group's involvement as an active agent, raising sensitivity to gender violence and lending a hand in the social and occupational integration of victims.

The company will set up specific job profiles that can be used in job offers targeting the women victims of gender violence. The company will work toward the goal of reconciling its specific needs and those of these women by providing the training hirees need to do their job.

The agreement is anticipated to last for one year but may be extended after that. Information will be spread internally through the different Group companies, who may join the agreement, thus supporting the campaign to aid and hire the victims of gender violence.
