Building all kinds of bridges
Improvements made of late in construction materials and procedures for major structures have facilitated great development in road construction, making it possible to build bridges that furnish answers to the limitations set by motorway and dual carriageway design parameters. The right bridge can minimize the impact of layouts by leaping over difficult terrain and other constructions.
In the last 15 years FCC Construcción has built more than a million square metres of bridges, of every type and construction system there is today, with the finest in technology: stationary bridges and drawbridges, made of steel, concrete or combinations of materials; straight, flat, medium- or long-span bridges, arched, cable-stayed and suspension bridges; bridges cast in place on stationary falsework or movable formwork, cantilever bridges, progressive cantilever bridges and bridges using large marine cranes.
In addition FCC is licensed to use the Swiss BBR system of post-tensioning in Spain and Portugal. The system is applied in many of the projects FCC Construcción does.
