A Message from Our Chairman: A New Stage

I am delighted to welcome you to FCC Construcción’s website. FCC Construcción is a construction industry pacesetter with over a century of experience in civil engineering, building, refurbishing, industrial construction and concessions, providing all the systems and infrastructure that citizens need for a better life.

I have the honour of chairing the company at a time when we are experiencing a change, a time of reflection and self improvement.

FCC’s recently presented strategic plan underscores the following core work areas for the new stage:

1) A programme for divesting from non-strategic assets

2) Slimming of our indebtedness to a ratio that our operating profit can handle

3) Adjustment of Spanish means of production to the hard new facts, and at Alpine, our Austrian subsidiary, fallback to domestic markets and efficiency improvements

4) Resource generation

5) Continued work on the global stage: FCC is there in more than 50 countries where we’re glocal, both global and local, and we’re domestic market leaders.

We’re putting our all into this plan, and to make it work we place our full trust in the people at FCC. They have the values, the knowledge, and the ability to work hard and make sacrifices that will help us stand strong against the crisis and be more competitive on markets where we still have a lot to offer.

There are over 20,000 people here at FCC Construcción. We’re all working on continuous improvement, with our eyes on the future and on what our customers are asking of us. We’re offering customised solutions, with results that satisfy.

In pursuing our mission, the company has shouldered a responsibility that goes beyond economic terms to include social and environmental aspects. We’re a citizen company, and we can’t conceive of being successful without an ethical dimension in the work we do.
