Supporting local communities

FCC Construcción applies the same approach to ethical behaviour in all areas of the company which strengthens our corporate culture and our commitment to society.
Respecting human rights and workers' rights, the environment and ethics all form part of the principles of the company and of the people linked to FCC. We comply with our obligations and act in a fair, honest and transparent manner.

Co-operation with the community

FCC Construcción cooperates with the communities where it is operating and works in different projects for the most underprivileged members of the community. It supports projects involving children, young people, culture, sport and the local economy. In 2009, nearly one million euros were allocated to social actions.

The ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact

FCC Construcción joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2004. As a founding member of ASEPAM (Global Compact Association of Spain), it has participated in its activities since the beginning with the aim of sharing the good practices promoted by the implementation of the Ten Principles.

Human Rights
Principle Nº1	Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
Principle Nº2	Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour Standards
Principle Nº3	Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
Principle Nº4	Promote the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
Principle Nº5	Promote the effective abolition of child labour.
Principle Nº6	Promote the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Principle Nº7	Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
Principle Nº8	Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
Principle Nº9	Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption
Principle Nº10	Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
